Feed Your Lawn with Slow-Release Fertilizer
There are a few things you can do to create a hearty, healthy lawn that’s less susceptible to weeds and disease. With the right fertilizer and care, you can nurture your lawn into a soft green carpet. To begin with, lawns require regular feeding to maintain a lush green look. Your chosen slow-release fertilizer should give you everything you need to create and maintain beautiful, thick, green lawns with deeper root systems for strong, healthy growth. The NPK list on a bag of fertilizer indicates the percentage by weight of each of the three major nutrients: nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium.

Slow-Release Fertilizer Application
While lawns need fertilizer, it’s easy to make mistakes such as applying the wrong nutrients or fertilizing at the wrong time. Everybody has different soil types and fertilizer varieties will work differently. Some require lots of water when applied and give surge growth to your lawn, others are controlled release and require minimal water and work evenly over a longer period. In sandy soil, fertilizer will leach very quickly, hence more applications are required to do the job. In heavy clay soil, your fertiliser will last longer because of moisture retention and slower water movement. The key is to fertilize during the season when your grass is doing the most growing.
